Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in Visual Impairment (TVI) or eligibility to obtain
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education, Education of the Visually Impaired, or a related discipline
• Experience delivering instruction to students with visual impairments in a school environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive devices
• Strong communication skillsable to effectively collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
• Organizational abilities with experience managing caseloads and documentation

What Youll Do:

• Provide direct instruction and modifications for students with visual impairments across grade levels
• Assess students' functional vision, learning needs, and progress, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities to make them accessible
• Serve as a resource for staff and families on best practices for supporting visually impaired students
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster student engagement and inclusion
• Maintain detailed records compliant with educational standards and policies
