Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Education or related field, with certification in Visual Impairment (TVI)
  • Valid state teaching certification for Visual Impairment
  • Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students
  • Strong understanding of assistive technology, Braille, and adaptive tools
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Previous experience in an educational setting is highly preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instructional services and support to students with visual impairments, both in mainstream classrooms and individually
  • Conduct assessments to determine students needs and track progress
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and other support personnel
  • Develop and adapt instructional materials to ensure access to content
  • Offer guidance in the use of Braille, large print, and adaptive technology
  • Participate in IEP meetings, maintain documentation, and regularly communicate student progress with families and staff
