Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Education or related field, with certification in Visual Impairment (TVI)
- Valid state teaching certification for Visual Impairment
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students
- Strong understanding of assistive technology, Braille, and adaptive tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
- Previous experience in an educational setting is highly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional services and support to students with visual impairments, both in mainstream classrooms and individually
- Conduct assessments to determine students needs and track progress
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and other support personnel
- Develop and adapt instructional materials to ensure access to content
- Offer guidance in the use of Braille, large print, and adaptive technology
- Participate in IEP meetings, maintain documentation, and regularly communicate student progress with families and staff
