What you bring:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Recent experience working with K-12 students who are blind or visually impaired
• Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and accessible instructional materials
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to assess student needs, adapt curriculum, and create individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Patience, empathy, and dedication to student growth

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in various school environments (pull-out, push-in, or itinerant services)
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students needs and progress
• Consult with general and special education teachers to modify curriculum and ensure accessibility
• Teach students Braille, orientation and mobility, as well as self-advocacy and daily living skills
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings
• Communicate regularly with families and related service staff to foster a supportive educational journey
