A specialized teaching role is available for a professional skilled in educating students with visual impairments. This contract position offers the opportunity to work within a school setting dedicated to fostering inclusive learning environments and providing tailored instruction to support visually impaired students' academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments.
• Adapt instructional materials and teaching methods to meet the unique needs of visually impaired learners.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, occupational therapists, and other support staff to ensure an accessible and supportive learning environment.
• Provide orientation and mobility training to promote student independence.
• Use assistive technology and specialized resources to enhance student learning.
• Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting strategies as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school personnel regarding student achievements and needs.

Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments or related field.
• Experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting.
• Knowledge of braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility principles preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to develop individualized instructional plans and adapt curriculum effectively.
