A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Visually Impaired Teacher to support students with visual impairments in a school setting. This contract position is based in Arlington, TX, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on students educational experiences by providing specialized instruction and tailored support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized educational programs for students with visual impairments
- Assess and monitor students progress and adjust instruction as necessary
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to ensure students needs are effectively met
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive tools to enhance learning opportunities
- Provide orientation and mobility training as appropriate for students
- Maintain detailed documentation on student performance and instructional strategies
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in teaching students with visual impairments, or relevant qualifications
- Experience working with visually impaired students in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of braille, assistive technologies, and accessibility resources
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with educators, parents, and students
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
