A contract position is available for a Visually Impaired Teacher in a school setting located in Arlington, TX. This role focuses on providing specialized educational services to students with visual impairments, supporting their academic and developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments.
- Conduct assessments to determine students' needs and monitor their progress.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, occupational therapists, and families to support student learning.
- Teach assistive technology and adaptive skills to facilitate independence.
- Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation, and mobility as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in visual impairment education.
- Experience working with students who have visual impairments in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of Braille and assistive technologies.
- Ability to design and deliver individualized instruction effectively.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
