Job Description

A contract position is available for a Visually Impaired Teacher in a school setting located in Arlington, TX. This role focuses on providing specialized educational services to students with visual impairments, supporting their academic and developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments.
  • Conduct assessments to determine students' needs and monitor their progress.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, occupational therapists, and families to support student learning.
  • Teach assistive technology and adaptive skills to facilitate independence.
  • Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation, and mobility as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure in visual impairment education.
  • Experience working with students who have visual impairments in an educational setting.
