What Were Looking For:
- Valid Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments (preferred, but not required)
- Ability to develop and adapt curriculum materials for students with varying degrees of visual impairment
- Strong communication skills for effectively collaborating with students, families, and staff
- Flexibility to travel between schools, if needed, and work with K-12 age groups
- Passion for fostering an inclusive classroom and advocating for student needs
Position Highlights:
- Full-time, contract assignment working 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Serve students of all ages (K-12) with individualized support, consultation, and direct teaching
- Assess student needs, set meaningful goals, and track progress in collaboration with classroom teachers and families
- Provide adaptations and modifications to instructional materials and environment
- Support the use of assistive technology for students with visual impairments
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional insights for developing effective plans
