What Were Looking For:

  • Valid Florida Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification
  • Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments (preferred, but not required)
  • Ability to develop and adapt curriculum materials for students with varying degrees of visual impairment
  • Strong communication skills for effectively collaborating with students, families, and staff
  • Flexibility to travel between schools, if needed, and work with K-12 age groups
  • Passion for fostering an inclusive classroom and advocating for student needs

Position Highlights:

  • Full-time, contract assignment working 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Serve students of all ages (K-12) with individualized support, consultation, and direct teaching
  • Assess student needs, set meaningful goals, and track progress in collaboration with classroom teachers and families
  • Provide adaptations and modifications to instructional materials and environment
  • Support the use of assistive technology for students with visual impairments
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional insights for developing effective plans
