Make a real impact in students lives by supporting learners with visual impairments in a dynamic educational environment. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide both direct and indirect services to approximately 23 studentsone of whom is learning Brailleover the course of the 2026-2027 school year. Youll be serving as an essential partner for educational teams, helping students with vision challenges thrive academically and socially.

Qualifications:

• Valid Blind or Visually Impaired (BVI) teaching license issued by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB)
• Demonstrated experience working as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI) educator
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Experience delivering both direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
• Familiarity with Braille instruction is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality direct and indirect instructional support to students on your caseload, based on individual needs
• Support the development and delivery of educational materials for visually impaired students, including Braille instruction as required
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure accommodations and individualized supports are in place
• Maintain accurate and timely reporting of student progress
• Serve as a resource for vision-specific adaptations and instructional strategies
