Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification or state licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience working with children or adolescents with visual impairments preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate among educators, families, and support staff
• Knowledge of current assistive technologies and strategies in education for students with visual impairments
• Comfortable developing and modifying curriculum materials to suit individual learners
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instructional support to students with visual impairments across various grades
• Assess students needs and adapt learning resources, including Braille, large print, and accessible technologies
• Consult regularly with classroom teachers and special education team members to ensure accommodations are met
• Deliver orientation and mobility strategies as appropriate
• Communicate progress and strategies with families and advocate for students in IEP meetings
