Seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support students in a school setting in Wichita, KS. This contract position offers an opportunity to apply specialized skills in auditory and speech development to help students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and families
- Utilize assistive technologies and strategies to enhance communication and learning
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Provide training and resources to staff and families about hearing loss and accommodations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create an inclusive learning environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working in educational settings with students who have hearing impairments
- Knowledge of audiological equipment and communication methodologies, including sign language and auditory-verbal techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school personnel
