Job Description

Were searching for a passionate educator skilled in supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students for a contract opportunity during the 20262027 school year. This flexible position is near Westerville, OH, and focuses on serving various caseloadsincluding different age rangesacross multiple building locations, depending on the day.

As a valued specialist in this district, youll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, tailor interventions based on individual student needs, and engage families and staff to foster inclusive learning environments. The district offers an accommodating 10 hours per week schedule, with potential to adapt your hours around student requirementsoffering you significant flexibility.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Ohio Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) certification required
  • Demonstrated expertise in working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students
  • Familiarity with adapting curriculum and instruction to accommodate diverse communication needs, including sign language, auditory/oral, and assistive technology
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with school staff, students, and families
  • Willingness to travel between school buildings within the district as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across K12 settings
  • Assess and monitor student progress, modifying strategies to ensure achievement and engagement
  • Consult with educators and staff to implement appropriate accommodations and modifications
  • Develop IEP goals, participate in meetings, and maintain accurate documentation
  • Serve as a resource for families and staff on issues related to hearing impairments

This contract role is set to begin August 11, 2026, and continues through May 21, 2027. Interviews are scheduled via Zoom for your convenience.
