Step into a meaningful role supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in a dynamic educational environment near West Palm Beach, FL. This contract opportunity runs from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with full-time hours (35 hours per week) and the chance to make a profound impact across multiple school settings. Four positions are available: itinerant, elementary, middle, and high school roles. School locations will be determined before the start date.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Florida Department of Education Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) certification for K-12
- DHH endorsements and general education certification required for all positions
- Recent fingerprinting (via AHCA Clearinghouse) or willingness to complete as required
- Experience creating compliant IEPs and supporting diverse learners
- Strong skills in ASL, spoken language facilitation, or total communication approaches
- Comfortable engaging with diverse age groups (elementary, middle, and high school students)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and communication support by adapting curricula, utilizing assistive technology, and providing accommodations for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Facilitate language development and ensure students have equitable access to academics and school activities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) including assessments, documentation, participation in ESE meetings, and transition planning
- Collaborate effectively with families, teachers, interpreters, audiologists, speech therapists, counselors, and administrators to coordinate services and foster student growth
- Train staff on DHH accommodations and promote student self-advocacy and social-emotional development
