Desired Qualifications:
- Current teaching credentials with appropriate certifications for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Proficiency with American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods used with DHH students
- Experience designing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including general educators, speech pathologists, and family members
- Strong understanding of assistive technology and resources for auditory needs
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Willingness to work with students across a range of ages and hearing abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instruction tailored for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in various classroom environments
- Assess individual educational needs and adapt lessons to maximize engagement and comprehension
- Partner with teachers and staff to modify curriculum, assignments, and assessments for accessibility
- Facilitate ongoing communication with families to support student progress and address concerns
- Monitor and document student performance while maintaining compliance with all state and federal requirements
- Provide training and resources to faculty and staff on best practices for supporting DHH students
