Job Description

This onsite position will follow the 2026/2027 school calendar, with exact dates to be confirmed but anticipated to run approximately from early September through early June.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (TDHH)
  • Experience or strong knowledge in instructing K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Familiarity with evidence-based strategies for accommodating diverse communication needs, including American Sign Language (ASL), oral/aural approaches, or total communication
  • Strong skills in collaboration, problem-solving, and communication with students, staff, and families
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Enthusiasm for participating in team meetings, IEP development, and professional growth

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support, adapting lessons to meet individual student needs
  • Liaise with general education teachers and specialists to monitor progress and facilitate classroom accommodations
  • Participate in creating and implementing IEPs, contributing valuable insight as an advocate for students needs
  • Engage families and caregivers as partners in the educational process
  • Support school-wide programming and social-emotional learning initiatives for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
