Job Description

Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by providing specialized instruction as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This part-time contract opportunity runs through the academic year, offering a focused schedule that enables you to deliver individualized support to K-12 students. Collaborate with a dedicated educational team and help ensure that each student's unique needs, as outlined in their IEPs, are addressed effectively.

What Were Looking For:

  • Valid Deaf/Hard of Hearing Educator certification
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Comfortable working with K-12 populations in diverse school settings
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills for both students and families
  • Ability to provide direct, individualized instruction and support
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, encouraging learning environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work onsite, providing targeted 1:1 instruction to students Tuesday through Friday (1-1.5 hours per day)
  • Carry out IEP goals, documenting progress and adapting strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff, as well as families, to promote student success
  • Offer professional insight on deaf/hard of hearing education best practices
  • Maintain updated records in compliance with district and state requirements
