Job Description

Make an impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This contract position offers the unique opportunity to work closely with school-aged learners, providing specialized instruction and advocacy tailored to those with hearing differences. Your expertise enables inclusive educational experiences that make a lasting difference in each students success.

This part-time, flexible role requires a TDHH to provide services twice a month for 30-minute sessions, allowing you to engage meaningfully with your students while maintaining a balanced schedule. Youll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the school setting, helping to develop and implement strategies that address individual educational needs and communication goals.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students in educational settings who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Familiarity with creating and adapting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including with families and school staff
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
  • Comfort working as a W2 contractor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and develop appropriate educational plans for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Deliver 30-minute individualized or small group sessions twice monthly on campus
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and resources
  • Advise on assistive technology and classroom accommodations
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress with parents and staff
  • Serve as an advocate and educational resource regarding hearing loss and related needs
