Job Description

This contract opportunity is perfect for dedicated professionals ready to share their expertise and passion in an engaging school environment near Universal City, TX. There are two positions availableone in elementary or middle grades, and one at the high school level. Each role will focus on delivering core English and math instruction, adapting lessons to meet accessibility needs.

Ideal candidates are well-rounded educators who hold at least an undergraduate degree in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) education. A masters degree is preferred. Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required and will be assessed during the interview process. Dont forget to have your current educator certification(s) ready, as well as references and photographic proof of credentials.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education required; MA preferred
  • Valid educator certification in the applicable subject area
  • Confident fluency in ASL (interview demonstration required)
  • Experience teaching math and English at either the elementary/middle or high school level
  • Strong commitment to accessibility and student-centered teaching
  • Ability to provide references and proof of certification/licenses readily

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging math and/or English instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure comprehensive support for students
  • Adjust teaching methods to accommodate individual learning needs
  • Participate as an active member of the schools educational team
  • Maintain accurate records and regular communication with families

This on-site, contract role offers consistent 35-hour workweeks from August 12, 2026, through May 26, 2027. The district will begin reviewing candidates in mid-to-late Maydont miss your chance to make a positive difference!
