Key Qualifications:

  • Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Experience delivering specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with assistive listening devices and technology
  • Knowledge of developing and implementing IEPs for students with varying levels of hearing loss
  • Familiarity with both auditory/oral and sign language approaches
  • Passion for advocacy and inclusion in academic settings

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in individual and small group settings
  • Develop, adapt, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)

  • Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining detailed records
  • Offer consultation and training on accommodations and accessibility for school personnel
  • Utilize appropriate technology and teaching materials to enhance learning
  • Support students in developing communication, academic, and social skills
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on service planning
