Job Description

A contract opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to provide telehealth instruction and support to a high school student participating in an Early College Program. This position involves remote services along with effective collaboration with district staff.

Location: Hopkinsville, KY
Setting: School
Contract Duration: ASAP through May 26, 2027
Weekly Hours: 30 minutes to 1 hour per week
Caseload: 1 high school student

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized telehealth instruction tailored to the needs of a student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Provide individualized support aligned with curriculum and student goals
  • Maintain effective communication with district staff and caregivers
  • Document sessions and student progress according to district requirements
  • Comply with all professional and legal standards for instruction and telehealth delivery

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Teacher of the Deaf license required
  • Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in school settings
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote instruction techniques
  • Ability to engage high school students and adapt instructional strategies
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Interview Process:

  • Remote panel or casual interview format available with advance notice
  • Decision anticipated within 24 hours of interview

Additional Information:

  • Contract and necessary onboarding paperwork, including fingerprints, must be completed prior to start
  • Virtual training may be provided as needed
