Job Description

Opportunity available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) services, focused on telehealth delivery in an educational setting. This role is located in Fort Smith, Arkansas, supporting K-12 students with individualized education programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1 to 1.5 hours of tailored instruction per day, Tuesday through Friday, directly addressing the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Delivering specialized telehealth lessons that align with each students IEP goals.
  • Collaborating with school staff and families to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Maintaining accurate records and tracking student progress in compliance with educational standards.

Qualifications and experience desired:

  • Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH Educator certification required).
  • Experience working with K-12 students within a special education framework.
  • Comfort and proficiency in conducting telehealth sessions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage students virtually.
  • Ability to work onsite in Fort Smith, AR, as this role requires in-person presence despite telehealth instruction.

This is a part-time contract position running from August 8 through May 13, with a daily commitment of 1 to 1.5 hours. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom.

Working onsite at the school provides direct access to students and resources necessary for effective instruction. This position offers the chance to apply specialized skills in a focused, impactful role that supports students educational and communication development.
