Job Description

Seeking a skilled professional to provide specialized educational support for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing through telehealth and onsite services. This part-time role involves delivering instruction and support to K-12 students within a school setting, fostering communication and learning in alignment with individual needs.

Location: Alpena, MI
Contract Duration: August 24, 2026 June 3, 2027 (tentative)
Work Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week
Service Model: Onsite preferred; telehealth services accepted

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instructional services tailored to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students using telepractice and in-person methods.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable state education standards and licensing requirements.
  • Utilize communication modes and assistive technologies appropriate to student needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Michigan teaching license valid for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
  • Prior experience educating students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably in a K-12 environment.
  • Proficiency in telehealth service delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain regular communication with school personnel and families.
  • Strong understanding of educational strategies for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners.
