Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification and endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience working with students from early childhood through high school
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with multiple communication modalities
  • Strong skills in developing and adapting individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with general education teachers, specialists, and families
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed
  • Develop, implement, and update IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Advocate for student access to general education curriculum and resources
  • Provide consultative support to staff and families
  • Facilitate small group and one-on-one instruction
  • Employ a variety of techniques, including assistive technology and visual aids, to optimize student learning
  • Participate in professional development and ongoing training
