Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and active Washington State teaching license, with appropriate endorsements for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction
- Proven experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in school settings
- Knowledge of various communication modalities, including American Sign Language (ASL), oral approaches, and assistive technology
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary educational teams, families, and related service providers
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting materials and methods to meet individual learning needs
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and staff
- Monitor student progress, maintain records, and adjust interventions as needed
- Advocate for accessible resources, classroom accommodations, and effective communication strategies
- Offer guidance and consultation to staff and families on best practices for supporting DHH students
