Empower students to communicate, succeed, and thrive as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a supportive educational environment. This is a contract role located near beautiful Stayton, OR, where youll work closely with students, faculty, and families to help every learner reach their fullest potential.
Ideal candidates bring a passion for fostering an inclusive classroom and expertise in helping students with varied hearing abilities participate fully in school life.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement
- Experience supporting K-12 students with hearing loss
- Proficiency in various communication modes (e.g., American Sign Language, oral/aural strategies)
- Strong collaboration skills with teachers, support staff, and families
- Adaptable, patient, and creative approach to teaching diverse learners
- Commitment to individualized instruction and differentiated learning plans
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction tailored to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across grade levels
- Collaborate with teachers to modify curriculum and classroom activities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Utilize technology and assistive devices to enhance access and communication
- Offer guidance, advocacy, and training for staff and family members
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of achievements and challenges
