In this contract position, you'll work closely with learners who are deaf or hard of hearing, fostering an inclusive and engaging classroom environment. Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Previous classroom experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Proficient in various communication modalities, including sign language (ASL), cued speech, or spoken language
- Ability to develop and deliver individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- A passion for empowering students and supporting their unique learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with hearing challenges
- Assess individual student progress and adjust instruction to ensure success
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers to facilitate inclusion
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting and progress monitoring
- Provide guidance, resources, and support to classroom teachers to help them accommodate and instruct deaf or hard of hearing students
- Foster a supportive and positive classroom culture that celebrates diversity and encourages student confidence

Compensation for this position ranges from $38.00 to $63.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
