Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Previous classroom experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Proficient in various communication modalities, including sign language (ASL), cued speech, or spoken language
• Ability to develop and deliver individualized educational plans (IEPs)
• A passion for empowering students and supporting their unique learning needs

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement engaging lessons tailored to the needs of students with hearing challenges
• Assess individual student progress and adjust instruction to ensure success
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers to facilitate inclusion
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting and progress monitoring
• Provide guidance, resources, and support to classroom teachers to help them accommodate and instruct deaf or hard of hearing students
• Foster a supportive and positive classroom culture that celebrates diversity and encourages student confidence
