Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing or related credentials
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing specialized instructional strategies
- Strong knowledge of auditory and visual communication methods, including sign language proficiency
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) focused on students unique needs
- Collaboration skills to work effectively with families, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and general education staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, promoting academic, social, and communication development
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and abilities
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional plans accordingly
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to assessment and intervention planning
- Provide training and resources to staff and families to enhance understanding and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
