Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education or a related field
  • Current credential or certification to teach Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience with individualized education programs (IEPs) and creating adapted lesson plans
  • Strong communication skills (spoken and written), including American Sign Language proficiency
  • Ability to work collaboratively with general education teachers, specialists, and interpreters
  • Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred, but not required
  • Commitment to fostering an encouraging, accessible, and engaging classroom

What Youll Do:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with hearing loss, adapting materials and methods as needed
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on the development of student goals
  • Communicate regularly with families and team members regarding student progress
  • Advocate for student needs and facilitate connections to appropriate resources and services
  • Support school staff with strategies for inclusion and accessibility in the classroom
  • Utilize assessment data to tailor instruction and monitor growth
