Job Description

In this full-time contract role, youll play a crucial part in delivering specialized education and advocacy for students with hearing differences across a range of school assignments. Qualifications:

  • Active Department of Education teaching certification required
  • Experience teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students within schools is highly valued
  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse needs
  • Willingness to complete necessary fingerprinting prior to the start date
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, with caseload details and age groups to be shared once finalized
  • Collaborate with school teams, families, and specialists to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Implement evidence-based strategies that promote language, communication, and academic growth
  • Advocate for accommodations, accessibility, and equal participation for students across academic and extracurricular settings
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and district meetings as needed
