Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in the beautiful area near Signal Mountain, TN. This contract position offers you the chance to empower students with hearing differences and collaborate with dedicated educators in a welcoming school environment.

Youll provide specialized instruction and advocacy for students who are deaf or hard of hearing across different schools in the region. With a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week during the 20262027 academic year (August 5, 2026 May 19, 2027), your expertise will guide young learners to develop their academic and communication abilities while building confidence and success in the classroom.

Qualifications and Certifications:

• Valid and active DOE teaching certificate (Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement)
• Ability to complete fingerprinting and district credentialing requirements promptly
• Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students strongly preferred
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere
• Flexibility, strong communication, and collaboration skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Adapt lesson plans and IEP goals to ensure student success
• Advocate for students needs in accordance with best practices
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and help create accessible classroom environments
• Caseload will include various age groups (further details forthcoming as assignments are finalized)
