Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing in a vibrant educational setting near Seattle, WA. Youll serve as a vital advocate for students, collaborating with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to ensure every child has access to quality education.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid state teaching certification with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement or eligibility
  • Experience providing direct instruction and educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong knowledge of various communication methods, including ASL, spoken English, and/or cued speech
  • Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for inclusive education and advocacy for students learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction tailored to students unique communication and learning needs
  • Assess student progress, modify strategies, and document outcomes in alignment with IEP goals
  • Consult with educators, staff, and families on accommodations, assistive technology, and classroom modifications
  • Conduct instructional sessions in a variety of settingsone-on-one, small group, or full classroom
  • Deliver training to staff regarding auditory access, communication strategies, and effective inclusion
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate reports, records, and documentation as required
