A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to support students in a dynamic school setting located in Seattle, WA. This role is designed for an experienced educator passionate about making a significant difference in the lives of students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Deliver specialized instruction to enhance language, communication, and academic skills.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and families to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Utilize assistive technology and resources effectively to support student learning.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Provide advocacy and guidance for students within the school community.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing or equivalent credentials.
- Proven experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of auditory-verbal techniques and sign language is a plus.
- Ability to create engaging, individualized lesson plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
