Job Description

This position offers an opportunity to apply specialized skills in supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within a dynamic school setting in San Francisco, CA. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering individualized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Developing and implementing specialized lesson plans and communication strategies.
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers to adapt curricula and accommodations.
  • Conducting assessments and monitoring student progress.
  • Providing guidance and resources for students, families, and staff on hearing impairments and assistive technologies.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to optimize educational outcomes.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Certification or licensure in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Strong understanding of auditory and visual communication methods.
  • Experience working with assistive listening devices and other relevant technologies.
  • Ability to develop individualized educational plans (IEPs).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and commitment to inclusive education.
