Make a difference in the lives of students by providing specialized support for the deaf and hard of hearing as an itinerant educator in San Francisco. This contract opportunity runs from August 11, 2026, through June 2, 2027, offering the chance to collaborate across multiple school sites, primarily within the Richmond area. The role focuses on consultative services and direct support to students from early childhood through transition stages.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Deaf/Hard of Hearing teaching credential (DHH), with current CTC authorization.
• Experience supporting students with hearing impairments across various grade levels.
• Strong consultative and collaborative skills for working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to individual student needs.
• Ability to travel to various district sites as part of an itinerant role.
• Commitment to cultural responsiveness and student-centered advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver consultative and direct instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, districtwide.
• Partner with general education teachers and support staff to ensure access to instruction.
• Adapt and modify curriculum materials based on student IEPs and individual needs.
• Provide recommendations and support for the use of assistive technology and accommodations.
• Participate in IEP meetings, complete evaluations, and maintain comprehensive student records.
• Serve as a resource for staff and families, offering guidance on accessible strategies and communication options.
