Job Description
A full-time Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) position is available to provide specialized instruction for K-12 students in a school-based setting. This role is onsite and based in Concord, NC, serving approximately 1012 students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Special Education services aligned with students IEPs using best practices tailored for DHH learners
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the NC Standard Course of Study and accommodate diverse learning needs through differentiated instruction
- Conduct screenings and evaluations to assess student progress and needs
- Participate actively in the IEP process, including drafting present levels, goals, and service plans
- Monitor student progress and implement appropriate classroom management strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation including progress notes, summaries, and IEP records
- Collaborate effectively with school staff, students, and families to create a safe and inclusive learning environment and support student success
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina DPI DHH Professional Educators License (submission of a current license screenshot is required)
- Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across K-12 grade levels
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage caseload effectively, approximately 1012 students
Schedule and Location:
- Full-time, 40 hours per week aligned with the school calendar
- On-site position located in Concord, NC
