Job Description
A full-time Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) instruction is sought for a school located in Concord, NC. This on-site position involves working with approximately 1012 students, delivering targeted educational services aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study and in compliance with Special Education requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Special Education services in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using evidence-based practices
- Develop and implement lesson plans featuring differentiated instruction tailored to student needs
- Conduct screenings and evaluations as required
- Participate actively in the IEP process, including presenting levels, setting goals, and outlining services
- Monitor student progress and manage classroom behavior effectively
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including notes, summaries, and IEP records
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, students, and families to support student success
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) Deaf and Hard of Hearing Professional Educators License is mandatory (a screenshot of the active license must be submitted with the application)
- Experience working with DHH students in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of Special Education laws and best practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and service providers
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Location: Concord, North Carolina
This position follows a full-time, school-based schedule totaling 40 hours per week.
