A dynamic opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing within a school setting in Sacramento, CA. This contract position focuses on providing specialized education and support to students with hearing impairments, ensuring their academic and social development in an inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, addressing individual learning needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Utilize specialized strategies and assistive technologies to enhance communication and learning.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with families, audiologists, speech therapists, and other education professionals to promote comprehensive support.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with institutional and legal requirements.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf Education or as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working in educational settings with deaf or hard of hearing students.
- Knowledge of auditory-verbal techniques, sign language, and assistive technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to individual needs.
