An educational opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to support students in a dynamic school environment located in Redding, CA. This contract position focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, fostering their academic and social growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance communication and learning
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a multidisciplinary approach
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on assessment data
- Promote inclusion and advocate for student needs within the school setting
- Provide training and support to staff and parents regarding deaf education and related services
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students who have hearing impairments in a school setting
- Knowledge of audiological services, assistive listening devices, and communication methods such as sign language
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that meet diverse learner needs
