In this opportunity, you'll provide specialized instruction within school settings and play a vital role in fostering a positive, inclusive environment for students with hearing differences.
What youll need to succeed:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or eligibility in relevant state
- Experience working in educational settings with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong understanding of language acquisition, audiology, and assistive technologies
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Excellent collaboration skills to work alongside general educators, speech-language pathologists, and families
- Passion for empowering students and supporting diverse learning styles
What youll be responsible for:
- Providing direct and consultative services to students with hearing loss in various grade levels
- Adapting curriculum materials and teaching strategies for optimal accessibility
- Supporting language, auditory, and social-emotional development
- Conducting assessments and participating in IEP meetings
- Training staff and providing resources to ensure students learning needs are met
- Advocating for effective use of FM systems and other assistive technology
- Maintaining accurate records and ongoing communication with families and educational teams
