Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time position is based near Posen, MI, with a flexible arrangementonsite presence is preferred, but virtual service (VOCO) is also accepted. Essential Qualifications:

  • Current, active Michigan teaching license with appropriate endorsement for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (verification available via the Michigan Department of Education)
  • Experience teaching or supporting K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong communication skills, both in spoken and written formats
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administration
  • Comfort with technology required for virtual instruction, when applicable

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support tailored to meet the diverse needs of K-12 students
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students served
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and resources to optimize student access to curriculum
  • Advocate for accessible learning environments and foster inclusion within the school community
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in regular team meetings
  • Collaborate with staff and parents/guardians to ensure continuity of service
