Job Description

Make a lasting impact as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing serving students in the vibrant Nashville area. This full-time, contract opportunity gives you the chance to work onsite during the 2026-2027 school year, guiding and supporting K-12 students across several school hubs dedicated to Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.

Youll enjoy the variety of consultative services, tailoring your expertise to each students unique needs and collaborating closely with school staff and families. Assignments may vary, with the district offering specialized hubs for Pre-K through elementary, and an exciting new middle school hub opening soon.

What Were Looking For:

  • Active Tennessee Department of Education teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Previous experience supporting DHH students preferred
  • Adaptability working across multiple school sites and age groups (K-12)
  • Commitment to onsite presence, Monday through Friday
  • Ability to collaborate with educational teams, students, and families
  • Willingness to complete and navigate time-sensitive TN fingerprinting requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultative and direct instruction as determined by student needs
  • Track and document student progress and program effectiveness
  • Support inclusive practices and collaborate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Offer guidance and professional development to colleagues on best practices for DHH students
  • Serve as a resource for parents, ensuring effective communication and advocacy
