Job Description

Make an impact supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a vibrant educational environment. This full-time contract position calls for a passionate professional eager to deliver specialized instruction and services as an itinerant Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (TDHH). Youll work onsite with students across various locations, providing essential support and advocating for accessibility and inclusion.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

  • Valid Illinois TDHH License
  • State/Discipline licensure required
  • Strong understanding of Deaf/Hard of Hearing student needs
  • Experience working in school settings preferred
  • Familiarity with itinerant service delivery
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, support staff, and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in multiple school environments
  • Support educational access and accommodations, including resources and assistive technology
  • Develop and implement individualized instructional plans (IEPs) tailored to student abilities and goals
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure full, meaningful participation for supported students
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student performance and progress
  • Advocate for positive communication, social development, and self-advocacy skills
