Job Description

Inspire and empower students as a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing working onsite with K-12 learners. This rewarding contract opportunity offers the chance to make a positive difference while collaborating with passionate educators and support staff throughout the school year. The assignment runs from August 13, 2026, through May 27, 2027, set in a vibrant educational community near Papillion, NE.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Nebraska DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching license required
  • Experience working with K-12 students in school-based settings preferred
  • Strong understanding of instructional strategies and accommodations for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and support personnel
  • Commitment to fostering inclusion and student success across grade levels

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing, tailoring methods to individual needs
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
  • Advocate for students, ensuring access to the curriculum and school-based resources
  • Consult with general education teachers and staff to implement appropriate modifications and strategies
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with school and district guidelines
