Step into an essential educational role supporting K-12 students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing onsite during the summer session. This contract opportunity runs from June to July 2026 and is perfect for professionals passionate about fostering inclusive learning environments. With a manageable 17-hour workweek, youll have meaningful engagement with students while maintaining a balanced summer schedule.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license
- Hold a valid Kansas teaching license
- Prior experience supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills
- Dedication to promoting language access, literacy, and self-advocacy for all learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across Kindergarten through 12th grade
- Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to support student inclusion and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Develop instructional materials and modify curriculum to match diverse learning needs
- Provide consultative services and resources to families and educational teams
- Utilize a range of communication methods and assistive technology
- Monitor and document student progress on educational and developmental goals
