Step into a rewarding part-time opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This contract position covers the 2026-2027 academic year and serves learners in need of specialized support, making a true difference in their educational journeys. The assignment is scheduled from August 24, 2026, through June 3, 2027, with tentative dates and a weekly commitment of 10 hours. Onsite collaboration is preferred to foster meaningful connections, though virtual instruction (VOCO) will be considered for the right candidate.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Michigan teaching license in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) required
- Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Comfort utilizing technology and adapting to virtual teaching when necessary
- Dedication to individualized instruction and supporting diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, personalized instruction to DHH students across grade levels
- Collaborate with general education staff and families to promote student inclusion
- Develop and adapt educational materials for accessibility
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with IEPs
