Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a rewarding contract position for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity offers full-time hours in a dynamic school environment near Ooltewah, TN, starting in early August and running through mid-May. Work closely with students across various campuses to foster communication, learning, and social growth.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid and active DOE certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction required
  • Experience teaching or supporting students in Deaf/Hard of Hearing programs, preferably in a school setting
  • Comfortable with a flexible assignmentcaseload and age groups will be finalized soon
  • Willingness to complete mandatory fingerprint clearance prior to the start date
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction and tailored support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans according to individualized education plans (IEPs) and student needs
  • Work collaboratively with school staff, specialists, and families to ensure student progress
  • Maintain thorough documentation of student goals, activities, and outcomes
  • Serve as a resource for staff and parents, providing guidance on best practices for inclusive education
