What you bring:
- Current Nebraska DHH teaching license (required)
- Previous experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
- Familiarity with diverse communication modes and assistive technology tools
- Strong understanding of K-12 curriculum adaptations and IEP processes
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and families
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Organizational skills to manage varied caseloads and individualized plans
What youll do:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to students across K-12 grade levels
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with the multidisciplinary team
- Adapt classroom materials and environments to meet students needs
- Support language acquisition and communication skills, employing a range of effective strategies
- Advocate for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and ensure their full participation in school life
- Consult with general education teachers and staff to foster inclusive practices
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress monitoring
