Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity this summer as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, working onsite with an engaging K-12 student caseload. This position is scheduled for June through July 2026 and offers approximately 17 hours per weekideal for educators seeking to make an impactful difference during the summer session.

Your responsibilities will include direct classroom instruction, collaborating with multidisciplinary educational teams, adapting curriculum to meet student goals, and providing essential support accommodations for deaf and hard of hearing students. Your expertise will empower students to access and thrive in their educational environment.

Qualifications:

  • Current Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license
  • Valid Kansas teaching license
  • Experience working with K-12 students, preferably within a school setting
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with staff, families, and support specialists
  • Passion and commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning experience

Key Duties:

  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with hearing challenges
  • Adapt educational materials and methods to enhance communication and comprehension
  • Work closely with general and special education staff to integrate accommodations into classroom activities
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to maximize learning outcomes
