Job Description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing by providing specialist instruction in an in-person, itinerant role for the 2026 school year. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to serve multiple sites, fostering relationships and facilitating access to quality education within the community.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching certification or license required
- Background working with DHH students in school settings strongly preferred
- Excellent organization and communication skillsvital for managing caseloads across sites
- Experience working in California schools is highly valued
- Able to commit to onsite, in-person instruction (VOCO not permitted)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support services to DHH students across several school sites
- Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet individual needs, building inclusive classroom environments
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student progress
- Engage in IEP/504 meetings, developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized goals and accommodations
- Maintain organized documentation, progress reports, and effective communication with team members
- Provide consultative services and resources to school personnel regarding DHH best practices
This contract runs from August 10, 2026 through June 4, 2026, featuring a standard 37.5-hour workweek spent entirely onsite. The itinerary role presents the rewarding challenge of making a district-wide difference for students who need your specialized expertise.
