Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing on a flexible, part-time contract basis. In this role, youll provide direct services to students twice a month for 30-minute sessions, tailoring your expertise to help students thrive both academically and socially. Your dedication will enable these learners to access the curriculum and resources they need to succeed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Proven experience or strong knowledge in working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in educational settings
- Understanding of best practices for individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with staff, students, and families
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation and keep student data up to date
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional services to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Collaborate with school personnel to support inclusive learning environments
- Consult with teachers and administrators to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications are in place
- Track student progress and report results during scheduled visits
- Provide resources and guidance to staff and families as needed
