What Youll Bring:

  • Active Louisiana Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license
  • Proven experience, training, or certification in educational settings assisting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Adaptable approach to meeting each students individualized education plan (IEP) and fostering an accessible, supportive classroom
  • Commitment to professional growth and inclusive practices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized, evidence-based instruction for students with hearing loss, both within the classroom and through specialized pull-out or support settings
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that address students language, communication, and academic goals
  • Consult and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a consistent approach and accommodations across school environments
  • Maintain timely documentation of student progress and contribute to IEP meetings
  • Advocate for students' needs while fostering self-advocacy and participation in school life
