What Youll Bring:
- Active Louisiana Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license
- Proven experience, training, or certification in educational settings assisting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Adaptable approach to meeting each students individualized education plan (IEP) and fostering an accessible, supportive classroom
- Commitment to professional growth and inclusive practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized, evidence-based instruction for students with hearing loss, both within the classroom and through specialized pull-out or support settings
- Develop and implement lesson plans that address students language, communication, and academic goals
- Consult and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a consistent approach and accommodations across school environments
- Maintain timely documentation of student progress and contribute to IEP meetings
- Advocate for students' needs while fostering self-advocacy and participation in school life
