Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as an onsite Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing working with students in an itinerant capacity. Full-time hours are available immediately, offering the opportunity to support students across multiple school sites in the Naperville, IL area. This contract role is ideal for a dedicated professional ready to advocate for student success and foster inclusive learning experiences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) License
  • State discipline license as required for TDHH positions in Illinois
  • Compliance with any district and state-specific regulations (including PEL or additional credentials, if needed)
  • Ability to manage an itinerant caseload
  • Previous experience in a school setting or with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students preferred
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across multiple school sites
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
  • Consult with general education educators, support staff, and parents to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
  • Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive records in line with IEP goals and state regulations
  • Deliver training and resources to colleagues to promote a barrier-free educational environment
  • Advocate for students access to curriculum, extracurriculars, and support services
