In this onsite contract opportunity, you will play a vital role in the academic and personal growth of students by providing tailored instruction and advocacy. With a manageable caseload of just five students, you can devote focused attention to each learners needs, helping them build confidence and achieve their goals.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois licensure as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Experience or training working with deaf/hard of hearing students
  • Strong communication skills in spoken and/or sign language
  • Dedication to inclusive education practices
  • Collaborative mindset for working with educators, specialists, and families
  • Comfortable working onsite for 35 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized educational plans for each student
  • Provide direct instruction adapted to students preferred communication methods
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure access to curriculum
  • Utilize assistive technologies and resources to support learning
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging classroom atmosphere
  • Engage families in goal setting and regular progress updates

Compensation for this position ranges from $25.00 to $50.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
