Job Description
This full-time, on-site position based in Concord, NC, is ideal for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) passionate about delivering specialized education services. The role involves working within a school environment under a contract schedule, supporting approximately 1012 students with hearing impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study in a safe and inclusive setting
- Deliver Special Education services consistent with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and best practices
- Develop, implement, and tailor lesson plans to meet individual student needs
- Conduct screenings and evaluations to assess student progress and needs
- Actively participate in the IEP process, including goal setting and service planning
- Monitor classroom behavior and manage student progress effectively
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation including notes, summaries, and IEP records
- Collaborate with school staff and families to facilitate student success and ensure compliance with Special Education regulations
Qualifications:
- Valid NCDPI Professional Educators License for Deaf/Hard of Hearing education (active license screenshot required with application)
- Proven experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of Special Education laws, regulations, and best instructional practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Work Location & Schedule:
- Concord, NC (On-site only)
- Full-time, 40 hours per week aligned with school calendar
