Job Description

A full-time teaching opportunity is available for an experienced professional specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education within a K-12 school setting located in Metairie, LA. This position involves direct onsite engagement with students and offers a contract for the normal school year (NSY).

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instructional programs and support for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across K-12 grade levels.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet students unique learning needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, making necessary adjustments to instructional strategies.
  • Engage in professional development and utilize mentorship resources to enhance teaching practices.
  • Maintain strong communication with families, staff, and clinical advisory personnel to ensure consistent support and student success.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Louisiana TDHH (Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing) license required.
  • Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students from diverse backgrounds in a K-12 environment preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
